The Post basic diploma in Ophthalmic Technology at ECUREI is a 9 months’ program intended to prepare trainees for future employment in the field of installation, maintenance, service, and repair of ophthalmology equipment in the health care system of the country. The course is designed to equip trainees with the knowledge and skills to enable them work safely, accurately, effectively and efficiently in most of the eye care clinics and organizations. The course is also intended to impart general knowledge so as to positively change the trainees’ attitude to global health challenges thus enabling them to contribute positively to the society more especially in areas of ophthalmology.

Minimum Admission Requirements

  • For one to qualify for the program they must have a certificate or diploma in any medical related field or engineering field.
  • Qualifications in Biological Sciences and physics or Technical training in any Health-related disciplines such as Nursing/Midwifery, Environmental Health Sciences and Laboratory Techniques; that are considered equivalent to the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (A-level).
