BECD Minimum Admission Requirements

 

1. Direct Entry (UACE Holders)

Applicants should have:

  • A Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least 2 principal passes obtained at the same sitting.
  • Good performance in subjects related to education, languages, social sciences, humanities, or child development is an added advantage.

2. Diploma Entry

Candidates may also qualify through:

  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Development/Education from a recognized institution.
  • At least a Credit or Second-Class Diploma is preferred.

3. Mature Age Entry

Applicants who did not follow the normal academic route may be admitted if they:

  • Are 25 years or older.
  • Pass the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) Mature Age Entry Examination.
