Ernest Cook University (ECU) has received national recognition for its contribution to higher education, healthcare training, research, and innovation, following commendation from the Prime Minister of Uganda, the Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, during the University’s 10th Graduation Ceremony.
The ceremony, held at the University’s Bulenga-Kikaaya Campus, celebrated the achievements of more than 400 graduates and highlighted Ernest Cook University’s growing role in developing skilled professionals who are driving Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ernest Cook University leadership highlighted several strategic developments aimed at strengthening healthcare education and research.
Ernest Cook University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Michael Grace Kawooya, revealed that the University has completed the structural phase of its eight-level Teaching Hospital at the Mengo Campus. Once operational, the facility is expected to enhance:

- Clinical training opportunities
- Medical research
- Patient-centered healthcare delivery
The Vice Chancellor also announced that the University’s research laboratory has been established and will soon be officially launched, further strengthening Ernest Cook University’s commitment to innovation and evidence-based healthcare.
