
Ernest Cook University at the 15th Society of Radiography of Uganda (SRU) Scientific Conference and AGM 2026
Ernest Cook University was represented at the 15th SRU Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting 2026, bringing together radiographers and other health professionals from Tanzania and Kenya to share knowledge, experiences, innovations & emerging developments in radiography and healthcare.
The event was graced by Hon. Lydia Wanyoto, Minister of state for Public Service, who served as the Guest of Honour.
During the conference, Ernest Cook University presented the remarkable journey of Ernest Cook Ultrasound Research and Education Institute (ECUREI) transitioning into Ernest Cook University, highlighting the institution’s transformation from a specialised centre for ultrasound research and education into a fully-fledged university committed to advancing health sciences education, research, innovation & professional development.
The presentation provided an opportunity to showcase ECU’s growth and its continued commitment to quality training in radiography and medical imaging, while highlighting the institution’s contribution to developing competent and innovative health professionals equipped to respond to the evolving needs of healthcare systems in Uganda and beyond.
The conference also provided a valuable platform for ECU to engage with radiography professionals and institutions across the region.
